It all started with finger painting on my plastic easel as a child, which evolved into art camps, and classes. I wanted to be a part of anything that involved creativity. I picked up carpet and countertop samples at Home Depot, then went home to “design”… “for fun.”
I didn’t stop at decorating make-believe houses. I drew different versions of my dream house. Not only did I want them to look pretty, but also, I wanted them to be neat and tidy. Rearranging furniture in my room and daydreaming about how I would “declutter” and decorate my childhood home became a hobby.
I thought something was wrong with me – children play with toys, not paint samples. Later, I found out my unique passion was a wonderful combination of creativity, OCD, and perfectionism. I volunteered to organize teachers' rooms after school. I had a side hustle in college cleaning, and organizing houses. I gave unsolicited decorating and organizing tips to anyone who would listen… furniture thrifting was a weekend favorite!
Fast forward to my early 20s. I bought a house. A dream come true. I got to decorate and organize EVERYTHING. Just me, good music, and 500 Amazon boxes filled with containers! Then, I found out that people make careers out of it… I fell in love with professional organizing podcasts and discovered I could do what I loved and get paid for it.
My mission at I.L. is to help others discover the peace I did in my own home – by establishing intentional environments through creative design and organization.

When asked about strengths I bring to I.L., I always recall the relationships that have resulted in the best projects. Getting to know and understand a client’s likes, dislikes, wants, needs and personality have always led to amazing results. Early on, I learned to honor the person I was working with by designing/creating for them and not for me.

One of my favorite things I love about I.L. is the freedom to think and create outside of the box. Whether it’s turning a tiny closet into a coffee bar or using a grandmother’s mantel in a bathroom, it’s limitless the ideas that flow and are used. Mind you, not all are used. Some are too unintentional, let’s just say.
Meeting the company's goals is easy for me. To communicate and produce with excellence is how I have succeeded in business and in my personal life. Gratitude, intentionality, and excellence are simply how life should be lived. We are team structured, regardless of the size or scope of a project. Together, we formulate the best plan for our clients.

On a funny note, I started drawing residential layouts before reaching double digits. Somehow I knew to make doors swing open and closed, and without furniture. These drawings weren’t ready for people. So furnish them I did and create families to live in them I also did. How did I know?
Yes. I have over 30 years experience in business, staging, residential and commercial design/decorating. Though I do not have a formal design degree, I have been trusted to produce space plans and furnishings for numerous residential and commercial clients and repeat clients. Also, some people call me an artist, but I refer to myself as “a creative” which I bring to every project.
Don’t get me wrong, knowing the correct height, width, weight and required allowances for almost everything of importance is a plus (which we do). But good, no excellent taste and client relations is of equal value (which we have). And, don’t forget intentionality (which we have that too)!
